A boat trip, no skills needed
It is the most popular outing on the water at Le Tréport, and the only one that asks nothing of you: you step aboard, sit down and look. Two pleasure boats run these trips, the Éden and the Étoile Filante, leaving from quai François 1er in the harbour.
The point is to see from the water what you cannot see from land — the highest chalk cliffs in Europe (106 m) seen from below, and the Mers-les-Bains villas lined up along the esplanade. Trips run from April to September and depend on the sea: in a swell or a stiff breeze they stay in. The "Boat" index in the table above gives a good idea of the day; tide times matter too, as the harbour is only accessible around high water.

Frequently asked questions
What wind do you need for kite or windsurf at Le Tréport?
At least ~12 knots, ideally 15-25, and never with an offshore wind. The area's big towed-sport spot is the Baie de Somme (Cayeux).
When can you leave the port by boat?
The Le Tréport channel is only passable around high tide. Today's window is shown above — confirm with the harbour office.
Kayak / paddleboard, is it doable today?
You need a calm sea and above all no offshore wind (which carries you out to sea). The "Paddling & calm water" rating above sums it up.
